I see this as a song that Dale and Foxy can sing to each other when the other is feeling really down about something. Suppose Foxy gets to dwelling on her time with Winifred and starts to feel that maybe she is irredeemably bad or, at least, no good. Or suppose all the negative stereotypes about bats finally make her doubt herself and wonder if maybe everybody is right in saying those things. Dale comes along and wants to talk to her about it. She is ashamed and puts her wing before her face. Can't you see Dale moving her wing aside gently and getting her to look at him and talk about it as he sings "Please put down your hand / For I see you"? Or maybe Dale is thinking of all the nasty things Chip has said about him in anger and begins thinking maybe he really is stupid and of no use to the Rangers. He also shields his face in his shame, but Foxy coaxes him with the same words. Anyway, that's what this song suggests to me. What do you think?
